Mark W
Urbans > SLs, in pretty much every scenario.
davidbarr
Urbans > SLs, in pretty much every scenario. Thank you. Is it because the sl's are weak?
Mark W
The Urbans are definitely a lot stronger.

Ben John - Hynes
My Urbans with a vee are so stiff. I rate them massively, and they're mega cheap too. A lot of people on here have posted pics of their snaped SLs.
Greetings
I snapped my old SL forks (from late 2008 when they were released) after no more than 10 rides. Half a year later while putting the bike on a diet I got a new pair, supposedly from the Echo factory, not the outsourced garbage that was available before. Still using them and it's been over a year. Mind you I'm a pretty smooth rider but still. I think the SL's are ok. They have terrible flex on disc brake but with a 4bolt they're fine. Sponge
I noticed the Echo SLs are a little different depending on when they were bought. I heard some batches had a +20mm mount, others a standard IS. Also, mine have no drillings in the disc tab and have no silver outlining cutouts. Just plain black throughout. Is it possible to tell which one was made from that 'outsourced' source and the Echo factory?
Greetings
The ones with three holes on the disc tabs are the old batch. The new one has no drilling. There could have been an imtermediate batch but it's going to be hard to tell.
Gibbon on an Orange 2
The ones with three holes on the disc tabs are the old batch. The new one has no drilling. So you're supposed to drill your own disc mounts?
isitafox
So you're supposed to drill your own disc mounts? Think he meant no weightsaving holes drilled

Loads of people advised me to get Urbans over SL's and they were right. My mate has SL's on his stock and im just waiting for him to try hook ups so i can watch him snapp his forks hahaha
