Dan6061
"Use the search!" - Which is actually pretty useless, always has been! And you never get the specific advise you're looking for, and it is just easier to make a new thread for your own problem. If someone went and found a thread with the info they needed, and the posted in it, everyone would moan because they're bumped an old thread! ...moan moan moan. Revolver
One time, I made a thread, called 'small mechanical questions'. Perfect for 'which way to I undo a bottom bracket? How do I I stop my chain from slipping? My brake is toss, how do I fix it?' But alas, it didn't take off.
Matt Vandart
That's a trippy circle you just made there. I've used it about 10 times now. And me. The problem with pointless topics like what tnn pads are the best, is they take up space and bump possibly interesting threads off the page. So the if you don't like don't look plan is bollox. It's like hit and miss whether you get a positive or negative reply upon the bump. I find search works when (like mentioned) people title their topics correctly. Using post search is turd. isitafox
People who say 'stop arguing and go out and ride' makes me want to knife my computer screen. People who don't look at what country someone is from before they start bitching about their spelling and grammar. Those errors that pop up at around 3-4 in the morning. "Use the search!" - Which is actually pretty useless, always has been! These, and new members asking if they should get x part or y, and when you say x they start arguing about why they reckon they'd be better of with y, why bother asking if you've already made your mind up?! bikeperson45
And people saying 'Is this part good?' and they've already bought it, then it's probably pretty bad but they've already bought it. Idiots.
JT!
People 'testing the water' in the for sale section.
Captain Scarlet
People who bitch about other people who might get the odd thing wrong. or bitching about reposts, duplicate threads etc. The trials community is small enough as it is, why should we be griping and driving people out just because they don't confirm to the standards of the people who have been here the longest? And surely reposts/duplicate threads reinforce how popular something is, in essence that is how much exposure something may have and a repost gives greater opportunity for people who have not already seen it. davey1991
I just in general dislike dumb people. I do however enjoy the feeling that some retard might read this and think 'awww, he means me. ' The positive side of this is that smart people will not be offended because they are smart, and dumb people won't realise that I mean them, so no-one gets hurt. was that aimed at me? i love mine, well used to. Cough, but no it wasn't aimed at you, i don't even know who you are if i'm honest. I agree with the testing the water thing. Also people who make a bike pic topic and then get aggresive when others don't addore their bike. There, their, they're. Your, you're. Those aswell. Token
Although I sometimes frequent the Happy and Angry threads, although only in extreme instances. I hate it when people post about their shit lives consisting of 'my dad just ripped up my driving license form' and 'its raining outside'. Seriously if your Angry for something so pathetic please an Hero yourself. edit: on top of that, I hate it when a thread becomes a useless hole to post stuff that nobody reads but insteads just adds to it with their own problems or opinions. I can't remember the last time there was a half decent discussion or argument. Edited November 9, 2010 by Token
anzo
When you don't come on for a weekend, start reading a thread where someone gets ripped to bits - you go to post and low and behold....

craigjames
People using the forum as a Tartybikes question and answer board.... they have their own phone and email system and are really friend and helpful... use it! Not posting pictures when creating a for sale thread, it's a simple thing to do and makes it so much easier to sell/buy something. People generally being too lazy to research something themselves, google if used right is an awesome tool, but some people still feel the need to clog the forum with simple questions that would take 2 minutes of research on the topic starters part. Bronz
Pretty much any thread where the OP asks for opinions on, say, three different freewheels. The thread then becomes awash with people who: 1) have used one of the freewheels, haven't used either of the other two, yet insists that they're shit and the one they use is better. 2) haven't used any of the above and throw a fourth option into the mix. 3) rubbish one of the options because their mate's mate's mate's mate's cousin once broke one this one time once. You can never pretty much never get proper impartial advice on any part on here unless you speak to a Tarty guy or someone who's actually got a sound knowledge of all the options (of which there are very few people who actually do). JD™
People making 'Unwanted Clips' videos. IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM, DON'T USE THEM. Don't try to make up for the fact the video is shit by trying to cover yourself saying the clips were unwanted. Just admit it's not as good as you wanted and don't put it out. Muel
What about if you started making a video, then never finish due to quitting, release a short video of the clips you have and then get slated for that too?
JD™
What about if you started making a video, then never finish due to quitting, release a short video of the clips you have and then get slated for that too? If I start a portrait of the beloved Muel, and then never finish it, but decide to try to put it in a gallery anyway - do you think they'd take it? (flawed example, the art world is so f**ked that they probably would and market it as some form of representation of ADHD or something) If I started a campaign for a client, decided it was the wrong message and then started work on another better one, would it be right to still run the shit campaign in the mean time? Muel
Both examples don't really fit though, for the portrait one a better example would be if you were talking about a collection made up of 50 portraits, but got artists block and only finished 10. Thus the gallery would probably still take it, just put it in a smaller room. As for the ad campaign one, I thought it was better to have the company name out there in any form rather than waiting for a new campaign? Fair enough to first one, but hitting 10 when you aimed (and probably committed to various funders and or vendors) for 50 is still gash. The 2nd one, that's why I'm the one running the marketing business and you're doing what you're good at. Let's keep it that way and not tell each other how to do each others chosen profession eh? ManxTrialSpaz
To be fair, there's no harm in released unwated/unused clips - provided they come after a produced video or along with it as raw footage. It becomes annoying when it's a series of edited vids with soundtracks etc. To me, releasing unwanted clips is more akin to including a film's deleted scenes and other extras on a DVD release. Yea, I should have clarified that for sure. No problem at all with something released concurrently or just after a main video and labelled as such. I just don't see that happening very often - the vast majority of 'unwanted' videos come way before a main video or in the absence of one completely.
