l33th3tr33
Hey guys, basically I've got a rear wheel with a freewheel that needs removing, but I don't have access to a tool yet. Is there any way I can get it off without damaging the hub?
CalopS
Hey guys, basically I've got a rear wheel with a freewheel that needs removing, but I don't have access to a tool yet. Is there any way I can get it off without damaging the hub? I think theres a good video guide on tarty bikes on how to do it with a chain and vice. PeanuckleJive
http://tartybikes.co.uk/media.php?group=guides&id=1 If you try to do it with a freewheel, it's just gonna spin round and say "click click click"
l33th3tr33
That's for a sprocket. Hence why I'm asking about a freewheel. Might just wait til I buy the tool.

JT!
You can attack it with an angel grinder but that's risking damaging the hub.
Theta2
I got my mates off without the tool, got a screwdriver and a hammer, twatted the outer ring off with the screwdriver, put the inner ring in the vice, wound it up tight then just spun the wheel off Bit of a bodge but cheaper than a tool if you're a tight arse haha

I'll see what's what tomorrow and give it a bash, quite literally.
