Mark W
People should really get more strength rather than stupidly light bikes. It wasnt like that back in the day..... It was, to be fair. It was also a case that even if you went for a heavier component it'd still break pretty quickly.
Phatmike
I built up a new lightweight Phase recently (although the term's relative when compared to these bikes!) and I'm missing the extra stability when going at some speed! The bike's a lot more twitchy mid-air, though it rules for static stuff..

Rockman
i know the frame is 1290 grams.. mine is still 200g lighter:D your frame is 1.235kg not 1.090kg Rockman Bjorn
Linus
your frame is 1.235kg not 1.090kg Rockman Bjorn I think that he knows how much his own signature frame weights... Plus he has the new prototype now so not the one that tarty sells. Edited December 23, 2010 by Linus
Skoze
That's ridiculous. Getting on for half the weight of my 24" (well, almost...) I can't stand how light bikes ride though, as Mike said they just have no stability. I remember Jon mack's old Dob which just felt so wrong to be on - maybe i just like having something to work against haha Edited December 23, 2010 by Skoze
aener
You should also bear in mind that these bikes will very rarely be going at speed Not to start an argument about street vs. "proper" trials - I'm just saying. The comp/TGS type builds can be much lighter without feeling weird 'cause of how they're ridden. Edited December 23, 2010 by aener
