Borat
Could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong/or not doing, to improve my gaps?
Kieran Morrison
Cant tell if your doing this cos of the fisheye but try going at an angle, to the side of your foot that you kick with. Should help, also, do a massive kick and tuck. Plus, you might not be getting far enough because the thing you are going on to is thin and doesnt give you enough time to get your balance right? dirt jumper jake
your not preloading before you take off. sorta crouch down before you kick if you know what i mean. and your not tucking the bike into you either which doesnt help. watch something like a TRA or tunni video and youll see what i mean
3dd
Just lookes like you are low on power! Need to extend your feet forward a bit more as well and you will be good to go.
CalopS
technique looks ok. More commitment with power and tuckage I think and you will be there.
craigjames
I think more than anything you just aren't committing and throwing the bike. I've found gapping on a mod takes a lot more of a concerted body movement to get across. Exaggerate the body movement more than you think you should. manuel
Use a more extreme fisheye - that'll work. On a more serious note - nothing looks particularly wrong - just need to exaggerate all the movements - more preload etc ... might be easier to practice on something that isn't down? In my experience it is much harder to put down all the beans correctly when you are going toward thin air. Flat to flat seems to be better for practising technique ? Borat
Ok, thanks guys. I'm taking all of it in!
Ben John - Hynes
As Rowan said, try on a flat gap, and take off something that isn't rounded as it's harder/more risky to do. Other than that, more preload- really bend your legs and get down to the rear wheel, then launch your body towards the stem to really throw the bike. Could do with some air tuck but that's a hard thing to do on a flat gap. I used to gap like you and could never go more than 6 foot, so I took ^ that advise into condiseration and can now do 8/8 and a half. tdubz
not sure if you are already doing this (watched video couple of times and wasnt 100% sure) tip i find is that if you let your wheel spin for as long as possible during the gap it seems to take me further also also sounds really good when you are gapping but its the end result which is more important does anyone else find this tip works, could maybe be somthing to do with the forward momentum of the spinning wheel? could be a load of cobblers but seems to work for me...... planetary1
I pretty much concur with everyone on here, your technique is good, even how you get on the back wheel, nice and smooth, you just need to do more of what you are already doing, just push it, full pre load, and full extension, in that clip it was just half of what you can do..otherwise....you're good
Matthew62
You're not jumping far enough.

Matt Vandart
I wouldn't be too worried thats quite a spooky gap, or it looks it in the fishy minge lens.
Borat
No, it's actually quite a horrible gap. It was wet that day, I started on slippy wood and was trying to land on slippy wood...
liam n
EFFORT, put more effort in i find it really hellps to overexagerrate the landing push the bike further forward , and be flexible. keep your eyes on where your landing and go for it ;D
