Cheap As Chips Accomodation In London

Hey All,

I'm gonna be heading up to London on the 13th of this month to have a few bevvies with some close mates. Not knowing what will happen, I thought I might book a hotel room for me and the missus so that we can chuck stuff there in advance and have somewhere to stumble back to without worrying about cabs and the like.

Looked at various hotels and my tightness has bubbled right back up, reminding me that I think it's ridiculous that it should cost £100 to just go to sleep somewhere that has a bed and a shower. So I looked at hostels even though Leanne would hate that, and they are all booked up for that night, so that's a no go so far.

Basically, anyone know somewhere around the Soho area that is a bit of an undiscovered treasure that's somewhere around the £50-70 mark that fits the bill?

Cheers :)

Cheers for that. Hadn't thought of them, but no availability on that night anyway. Will probably end up cabbing it to be fair, it's just as expensive, if not cheaper and everyone will be home then. Unless there's any other suggestions?

I needed a last minute hotel for the night in central london when I was working onsite in whitehall, found one in victoria for a whopping 35quid a night, that said it was a shite hole :D

Was right next to the coach station I seem to recall.

This doesn't help at all, but in 'random story about London hotels' news...

We stayed in a niiice hotel for the London Cycle Show one year, an old man and his (pretty hot) Russian bride ran it. She actually said 'thankyouplease' at one point, we found a pube in someone's bed, bloody on someone's bedsheets, and one of the pictures in the hall had smashed glass.

A few doors down there was another sweeeet hotel, £10 a night - you got to share a room with whichever random person also decided that a £10 a night hotel in London was a good idea... Dodgy.

Check the alternative hotels list, there are plenty in your price range.

Edit: I'm not sure about their locations though, I don't know London at all!

The ones in my price range are about the same distance as going home, thanks though :)

Looks like home is the best option, just hoped there was some sort of miraculous solution. London is silly expensive, although for the good reason of being the best city in the world. Yea, I said it.
