So, it's getting to that time that we get every year that certain people return to the forum. These are the people who just come back over winter while they can't ride, spam the shit out of the place with duplicate threads and moronic opinions, and then leave again when the weather gets good.

I have nothing against the fact these people have more of a 'life' than me, before people start giving that lark, but it kind of irks me. So what will you do? Ignore, Flame, or sit in wonder of the hypocrisy?

I'm all for more things going on and everything, but you two (as long members of the forum) should know that there's always a fair amount of chaos over winter right?

I'm not talking about the people who come here because they can't keep away from trials, that's cool. It's the people who are like 'It's too cold/wet/windy to ride, so I'm gonna go ask TF what brake pad is best - I'm pretty sure that'll never have been asked before' that get on my tits. Fair enough if you can say that duplicated threads and hearing the same comments over and over again doesn't frustrate you, but it does me.

My favourite threads are the ones where people say what they're getting for Christmas.

Person one: Gets PS4 and 50" TV, plus a new Ferrari 360 or something.

Person two: Harps on about how all they got was a a new piece of string so they could finally stop their shoes from falling off.

With regards to re-posts, the forum I frequent most is probably retrorides, and I love the fact that re-posts are 100% allowed. If something's cool/interesting, then what's wrong with seeing it twice?

On the other hand, threads like you've mentioned are annoying, but the best way to deal with them tends to be to just stick a link to the last topic asking the same question, and report it to a mod so it can now be locked. The discussion can be carried on in the original thread, and the new one drops off the bottom pretty quick without 934563472 people bumping it back up to say 'it's been asked before, go look'.

I'm another chit-chat only person (Don't even have a trials bike anymore sad.gif), so I can't say I've noticed it too much to be honest, but I can see that it could happen.

I personally will be ignoring them and getting on with life. thumbsupanim.gif

Same here, sort of. Trials chat = work, Chit chat = leisure, in my weird TF life.

And yeah, people just tend to get a bit snappy this time of year 'cos they can't go out and ride, it's cold, it's wet, etc. Soon be time to smash the emergency glass and gain access to the banhammer again, no doubt. Happened once in the past few weeks already...

Stupid people are the best thing about this place.

Hence, I'm gonna flame every topic in the hope people don't get the idea :shifty:
