Go behind Liverpool street and there's a huge amphitheatre full of stuff and head down London wall and you've got the barbican, st pauls, tower bridge isn't far and much much more. Sure is hell of a lot more appealing than the southbank run where all that is on offer is ups and drop offs and has been done 100000000000000 times before. No congestion charge on the weekends. Parking wise....you'll have trouble in the North as it's mostly permit only. best bet is to head South of the river and park somewhere on a street there. Hatfields St (SE1) is free to park on, on a Sunday. All around bermondsey is free to park. If you want you can park directly on Waterloo bridge. The possibilities are many.
