Phat Or Heatsink?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was planning on getting new pads which would work well on a grind and last. I was going to get the heatsink yellow pads but then i watched a video on youtube testing the phat pads and i am not sure which ones to get. Help please! :)

Heatsink yellows. You should of seen how good mine were before it went weird and terrible (and wet!)

Flip a coin, everyone on here will give you a different answer because each brake setup is individual to the rider.

You may find the Phatpads awesome whereas I might try them and they'd feel awful, I think it's a well established fact that asking for pad advice on here only causes arguments so just order one and try them, if they're not what you expected then sell them and try the others. It's the only way you'll find what works best for you.

Personally I use heatsinks, though these are the first pads other than magura koolstops I've ever used so I've nothing to compare them too. Hope this helps you!

To me that implies there not that great if they went 'weird and terrible'.

It was weird cos they were amazing then i must have contaminated my rim ( i just fixed a lazy piston with the brake still on the bike with some gt85) but the brake is epic now, actualy, I have never used phatpads and i really want to try them, so you might aswell give them a try, change the topic to " reviews on phat pads" or something, because with N.wood posting the LGM thing, another person will say they are bad and an argument will start....

all over again!

isnt this one of those threads where people just recomend what theyre currently riding?

when theres a 99.9% chance they havnt even tried both sets of pads?

how stupid and boring

well iv tried both.... yellows are better, i run them front (v) and rear now (maggy). in cnc's backings.

i previously ran phatpads for a year or so, yellows are a bit better and more consistant
