Time Lapse Photography

Always wanted to give this a go, but never really had the chance to do it. Now i'm in Scotland I may aswell give it a go on the drive back I guess

Equipment?

Well, I have my iPhone 3gs, and that's it!

Got a windscreen mount for it so I can have it fairly well anchored for the trip.

Got a timelapse app for taking the photos, set to take one every 5 seconds (I can change this, obviously)

at 5 second intervals, I'll have about 6000 photos at the end of the drive, But I'm wondering if 5 seconds is too long for an interval?

Obviously on a motorway it doesnt matter, but on twisty B roads there's a lot that can happen in 5 seconds...

In a nutshell, who else has done a ghetto time lapse drive before?

Good call on 6000 frames @ 25 frames per second being 4 minutes

I'm gonna give it a go tomorrow, go for a drive and see what happens. Might post up the result here if it's any good

I'm intrigued which is why i suggested trying it, my camera can do it in all sorts of times, shutter speeds atc so i wanna see the results.

Rob P's time lapse in Plymouth is quite cool (didn't realise you lived in P-Town!!). But what struck me was the intensity of light changes and how the main precinct was looked warm and welcoming then the side spurs and underpasses and crossings looked so dark and sketchy!!
