I agree just be sure to stay away from the Belaey pads. f**k.

i like my belaey's !!! They have good hold and brilliant bite !

This is the issue with brake pads! Reviews like these are almost impossible to base a decision on.

For the topic starter, based on so many varying opinions, go with your instinct as to which you feel are gonna be the best, most reliable pads for you, on your setup, in the conditions you want to ride in.

I received my LGM's today. Initial impressions are WOW.

So much bite it's amazing, the hold is great too.

I can't really judge them after one 3 hour ride but so far I have a lot more confidence in my rear brake than with my heatsink yellows (they didn't have that much bite).

I have decided to try another rim to see if it does change the brake performance...

I had an Try-Hole rear rim (single wall etc...) and went to a custom trialtech double walled rim (by custom I mean I have made some square hole to make it look nice).

I have sanded the paint of the trialtech rim away from the pads and then grinded the rim with exactly the same grind I gave to the Try-Hole rim (that is a medium sharp grind). I couldn't believe the rim material would make so much difference. The Trialtech rim holds the grind much better than the try-Hole does and it also gives a much more solid brake lever feel. My rear brake has never been so good. The Bite has improved so much! The hold is the same in both cases. The noise is noisier, more honky with the Trialtech rim.

Each time with different rims, the pads were brand new and they were LGM. Best pads I have ever had for that setup! WIththe Try-Hole rim, Coust pads with plastic backings were better than the LGM...

Anyway, my rear brake is now perfect.

to those in the " i hate the belaeys" camp....

after reading through all of this, what are your mature and rational thoughts on the pad?! im sure im not the only person who has seen rave reviews, and im sure im not the only one who wouldnt use another from now on...

are we wrong? is our idea of a good brake incorrect?

if the answer to the above is no to both...do you really think telling people "they ARE awful" or words to that effect is helpful?

Sooo funny reading all of this. At the end of the day the pad is not going to improve your riding that much! If half the trials riders on here spent as much time riding their bike as they do setting up their brakes they would be a whole load better.......

Just use whatever pads you have laying around and get on with it.

The rim does make a massive difference, people should say what rim they have as well as telling us how amazing or poop their pads are..

Im running Rock Blues on a grind that’s 2 months old (Dob rim) and it still works perfectly well......

Although the irony is that if the riders spent half as much time setting up their brakes as they do talking about setting up their brakes, their brakes would be a whole load better.
