George.E
Thought id post this in here because it's not really an advanced question. Just wandering should I change my bb an crank ISIS? I have square taper cranks an bb at the moment but wandering whether to change them over christmas. Just wanted to know whether it actually makes a difference if I upgrade to ISIS? Are they better or should I stick with mine? Thanks.
dannytrialskid
Err.... YES!! MAJOR YES! Square taper should of faded out ages ago IMO. ISIS are so much better, stronger and efficient. I would swap from square taper to ISIS ANY DAY!!! Do it, worth it!
George.E
Ino I was going to do it when i first got the bike but didnt want to spend that extra money. What are the benifits of it though?
Danny
If you need new cranks or bb then yes its probably worth upgrading. If both your current items are fine then i wouldn't bother until they are knackered.

If it works fine there's no use in changing now, unless you sell on the square setup to someone else in need and use the proceedings towards your ISIS upgrade
Box
ISIS bottom brackets generally seem to be better quality than squares, but as mentioned, unless you're upgrading both, I wouldn't bother! Square taper have an appealing bodgeability about them too...
