Trialtech Freewheel

I have heard of a few people on here saying that they were skipping during the bedding in stage, but none of them have came back on and said whether the skipping stopped once the freewheel had properly bedded in. I doubt that a top notch company like trialtech would put something on the market without first properly testing it and if it wasn't up to scratch I doubt they would realease it.

I know this answer wasn't much of a help as to whether the Trialtech is any good, just trying to go a little more into depth rather than just saying "someone told me it skipped"

as above you really cant go wrong with the SL

Mine had not bedded in and was skipping a fair amount, but then i found out the crank had pushed the bashring off centre and this was effecting the freewheel, need to cut down the ring abit, get it back on and just bed it in for a while.

Was not initially impressed though.

Put this up in the news bit yesterday, thought it'd fit in here nicely nd all-

Not saying anything bad about trialtech when i say this (even though every rim i have had from them has had troubles with either keeping the tyre on or taking it off), but its seems to be that the trialtech and rockman 108 freewheels are exactly the same, just me? Just paying a pound extra for some trialtech stickers :ermm: .

If they are, id be wary, the rockman one was supposed to butt up against the crank arm and tighten the lockring, where in fact, they'd made the actual drive ring too wide and there was a lip that sat on the cranks, meaning the lockring kept coming loose, leading to a bad case of the skippies.

And before you start jibbering on about bike maintenance, i even tacked the lockring up and somehow (im not exactly sure how :S) the tacks cracked and it came undone again.

In the end it met the gas axe :P.

Just sharing the knowledge,

Josh.

I've just had a first ride on mine, so I'll try and update and give my verdict as I go on. :) It's skipped a few times especially when it was first on, but I've given a bit of a wizz and it seems to be behaving better. These pesky bike components need to learn to respect their riders if we're gonna build up a rapport with them! (The same goes in reverse too - treat your stuff right!)

The forums bad enough as it is

Yeah, because of idiots like you posting all the time when you know so little! Seriously, just stop and think before you reply, whether you are actually adding anything usefull to the topic. You are obviously very enthusiastic which is great, but most of what you post is just rumours, 2nd hand info that you have read on here or inexperienced opinions. And if you post rubbish, expect the old and experienced guys to moan at you :P
