Dan Jones
Hi, I'm running 20t middleburn hardcote chainring, 17t Gusset bachelor rear cog and Trialtech Z610 HX 3/32 chain. Under load the chain rides up on the rear cog. All these parts are new. I'm using a Kingz tensioner. I have tried: Using a Surly cog and the problem is much worse Some grease on the Gusset cog which has improved things. Taking out as many links as possible from the chain. Does anyone know if this will improve as it wears or if another rear sprocket would be better to use? Thanks for any help. Box
I had chain skipping problems, changed most of the parts, ended up with a new tensioner (dual jockey wheel sprung types) which sorted it, must have been the chain wrap even though I assumed there was plenty. AdamR28
My guess would be chain wrap too...
craigjames
Just flip the tensioner like Rowan does and should sort it
N.Wood
Another vote for chainwrap. Double wheeled tensioner would sort it, or flip the 74 Kingz as Craig mentioned.
Dan Jones
Thanks guys. I have tried the kingz pushing up but then chain then rubs on the frame. I really don't want to use a tensioner that fixes to the mech hanger because I tend to land on it a fair bit.
