crashbanggg
My xbox broke about 6months ago, it started up ok, no RROD, usual xbox whirr, loading sound, however it had no video...which is a slight issue. I got it fixed by some shop and now its happened again, but I don't want to fork out another £30 to get it fixed. Iv seen loads of instructional's on how to fix it but iv not found any which look that great and the proper ones have to be paid for :/ Long story cut short... does anyone have a link to a decent instructional that I can follow to fix it? Cheers
MadManMike
Take it back to the shop ask what their warranty on repairs is. They should fix it for free or at least reduced...
Nick Harding
When you get it repaired from a shop, (at least when i had my ps3 repaired) they gave a 3 month warrenty which covered everything. even if what they fixed wasnt the problem. so it might be worth contacting them, to be honest £30 isnt to bad i paid £65 for mine to be fixed. Leistonbmx
email microsoft? Or just find a cheap one on ebay.
Krisboats
Saw an advert in game for a console and black ops for £99 today. Prices are starting to get low enough to just replace it outright, especially if it's an older machine with a history of faults. That said, checking with the repair shop is free. They may try and wriggle out of any blame though so be persistent with them.
crashbanggg
Thanks for the replies I'm going to dig out the receipt and see what they say and if they wont fix it for free il see whether Microsoft will. LOL. Failing all that I spose' I might splash out for a new one 'Saw an advert in game for a console and black ops for £99 today' any chance of link? Not sure what they fixed it with but it worked for about 6 months then it died again :/ and because its not red ring its not covered by any warranty + its ancient. I think MS will tell you to go f**k yourself. Your only options really are: you can contact the repair guys and see what they say, repair it yourself or buy a new one. I personally would try to repair it myself, see what happens then buy a replacement if it still doesn't work.
Leistonbmx
Fairly sure that sort of problem isn't fixable but I may be wrong. Just buy a cheap one off of ebay. You could always buy one with rrod and fix it on the cheap. Thats what I intend on doing for a second one.
