matt.price
hey i've heard that the echo leaks with a water bleed so if your going for water . hs33! never tried an echo but hs33's seem more popular. If i was you i would get the hs33 hope this helped matt
Sam Styles
go for the maggie your safe with one of those! echo's have had lots of problems with leaking.
isitafox
Personally I'd go for the magura, can't really go wrong with one of the new HS11's. If you had said Echo SL though I'd have a completely different opinion as I reckon they're very very lovely to look at!

Sam Styles
Out of intrest.. (bit of topic spam here) where to the echo's leak from? any bolt in the brake e.g. bleed screw, hose end bolts.
Laurence--Trials
any bolt in the brake e.g. bleed screw, hose end bolts. Ooh... surely that could be fixed? and what about the new 2011 2010 echo SL brake? http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=11294 Edited October 17, 2010 by Laurence--Trials
Sam Styles
Ooh... surely that could be fixed? and what about the new 2011 echo SL brake? it possibly could, maybe with a washer or something. point is, you shouldnt have to do that to a brake, it should just work as its what you paid for. dont know much about the new echo brake to be honest, so i cant comment on that
isitafox
Not sure on whether it's right or not but I heard they sorted the leaks on the Echo brakes and the new ones are fine.
SamKidney
Not sure on whether it's right or not but I heard they sorted the leaks on the Echo brakes and the new ones are fine. The new Echo SL's dont suffer any of the leaking products like the TR's and the older CNC model. A number of riders I know use them and haven't had a single problem. No leaks, spongeyness or mechanical problems. Just a very nice, high performing alternative to Hs33
Azarathal
It was only the original Echo brakes that leaked. I've tried both a maggy and an echo set up and I prefered the echo (don't forget it was different rim / pads / frame etc, it affects the feel a lot)
SamKidney
the Echo SL just feels more solid and offers more braking power than the magura in my opinion. Echo SL + Echo SL booster and TR clamps with TNN LGM medium grind = win
