Desmond Derv
Ok, so I think its time to get a new frame, I have seen an echo light, short 20" silver frame on e-bay for £200. Its from select bikes - they any good? But my main concern is when I look on Tarty bikes, there only £30 more, (I can choose white, which I like more) but there's a long and a short.... for a newbie this means nothing to me so anyone want to shed some light please. Another little thing is, I have an Onza 2010 Bird which would be striped down and put on the frame, I have maggies so would need clamps and a new tenslise 60 click but would my other onza parts fit all ok? Cheers in Advanced, Mark.

Tom Canham
This guy is bias towards the Echo, he has one, should consider all the other options as well. Edited October 17, 2010 by Tom Canham
Dwarf Shortage
This guy is bias towards the Echo, he has one +1, not intending to be a dick, but every post Kieran makes about bike recommendation concerns his Echo being amazing. So take his helpful advice with a pinch of salt.
LukasMcNeal
The echo is a good frame, but on the other hand the brake mount area flexes a bit without a booster.
Mark W
But my main concern is when I look on Tarty bikes, there only £30 more, (I can choose white, which I like more) but there's a long and a short.... for a newbie this means nothing to me so anyone want to shed some light please. The long/short versions only differ in terms of how long the front end is. On the long version, the reach is 620mm, and on the short it's 600mm. This means if you're taller then the long might be good to go for, and if you're short you might be better off with the short frame. If you're pretty average height then the short would probably be better for tech, compy type stuff and the long would be more suitable for TGS streety stuff. So yeah, that decision's up to you The Lite (and Lynx, as it's the same price) are really good frames, especially at that price, so I don't think you'd be disappointed. It'd certainly be an improvement from your Bird frame. Might be worth checking out the 2nd hand market too and seeing what's available if you want to save some £'s. Matt Vandart
Zoo lynx is very good, better than the echo imo, and yes, I have tried both.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to cause anything Edited October 17, 2010 by Kieran Morrison

Azarathal
i guess i must be a little biased :$ Isn't this the point though? He's saying he has the frame in question and it rides well, it's no point someone who doesn't have the frame but has ridden one for 5minutes to say its crap/good when obviously their opinion is invalid. "Which cake should I get? Chocolate cake, raspberry jam cake, fruit cake or sponge cake?" "I HAVE A CHOCOLATE CAKE, IT'S THE BEST, GET IT AND EAT IT AND NEVER LOOK BACK." "I SHALL!" What I'm trying to say here, is all cake is good, just because he likes chocolate cake, it's not enough for one opinion to be given about one cake, all cakes need a few different opinions so a sound choice can be made. I didn't say, "The guy's a f**king idiot, don't take his advice, echos are shit." I said, "take his advice with a pinch of salt."
Greetings
Zoo Lynx and Echo Lite have the same geometry. Go for the short Lite, they're very nice frames. Flicky and responsive and also very nicely made.
Desmond Derv
I'm drawn to the echo, but lynx is nice too will have to wait till x-mas anyways so plenty time to decide
