dirt jumper jake
Hi all, been looking on ther interwebs and came across this: http://bikeforest.com/CAD/# Basically you can make your own geo bike if you take your time. thought some people might be interested on here as there have been a few custom geo frames made on here. i made one after about 20 mins so if you took your time you could probably use this to design a frame geo how you want it and send it to marino or do it yourself. enjoy. Greetings
How do you get the wheelbase and bb - top of headtube measurement to display?
dirt jumper jake
How do you get the wheelbase and bb - top of headtube measurement to display? Not to sure on wheelbase but bb and headtube should be under the frame icon me thinks
Greetings
The Handlebar from BB measurement is a bit odd, I think it measures it in one dimension. If you put 680 for a stock you get a 1150+ wheelbase. I'm on about the measurements which you can display on the bike itself, as below: I'll be ordering a custom frame in 1-2 months so this program is ideal to settle on the head angle and reach. Unfortunately without those two measurements it's completely useless.
Mark W
Do you just mean in terms of getting the HA on the image too? Regarding the WB you got off that, what HA did you put on it? That'll have a pretty big impact on things...

That'll have a pretty big impact on things... The head angle is already on the image, it's on the front tyre. I'm biased between 72, 72.5 and 73 HA and would like around 670-680mm reach with a 45-55mm BB rise. I'm wondering what the wheelbase will be with such settings. However you cannot set the reach in this program and it won't display the wheelbase because the wheelbase field is blanked out.
Mark W
The front-centre dimension is reach?
Luke Rainbird
The front-centre dimension is reach? Nope, that'll be BB to front axle from what I can recall. I think there's the option to put the reach in in terms of x&y, rather than an individual distance, though that may include the stem on BikeCAD if my memory serves me right. Throw the wheelbase in using Front-Centre (chainstays + front-centre will be within a mm or two of the wheelbase) then get it to display enough that you can calculate reach - pain in the arse yes, but it works Edit; That'd be around 1095, 380, +35, 71.5. Reach of around 685/690mm. Enough info on there for you to work out what you want, to a reasonable level of accuracy at least Pretty handy when ordering from Marino as mentioned - it's so much nicer to be able to give a detailed picture than try to explain every last detail to the poor chap via email (though I did that too!)
