craigjames
thanks for all your comments so far does any body know any info/geo on the new limey that andrei is currently riding? Will it be out soon? anyway .. what will be the plus of having the limey over the fans and vis visa .? thanks matt Think its coming out at about 1090 wb, 380 Cs, +45bb. Not sure when it's coming out as Andrei is still riding and testing it. Joe Seddon also has as Onza stock prototype, which with Rockman forks comes out around 1078 380 +50 and it rides lovely! isitafox
Anyone ride/ridden a slate II as there's something about them that I love, don't know what though. Are they for light, comp style riding only??

Are they for light, comp style riding only?? If I was gonna blow some tarty bike vouchers on brand new frame that had modern geo and was light, I would blow them on this frame with vee brake mounts only I would try and get an orange one. I was seriously tempted by the one currently in the forsale section

It would be nice though!
Mark W
I don't know what your budget is, but slightly above that Slate II frame in a financial sense is the Hydroxx LT - they're amazingly nice frames, and pretty cheap for such a high end frame too. Stan's was such a nice bike to ride, and when Adam took over it it was again really nice. Had super positive feedback from everyone else who's bought one too. Bit high for me, to be honest the Slate II is top end of my budget if you could get it. I was really looking towards either the FANS, Born or Bow 2.5 but I'm not a fan of the graphics on the Neon and before I pick one I need to try and blag a feel of some other peoples bikes to see what a high BB on stock feels like. Definately think it's the way forward for me though.

isitafox
I don't feel quite at home on the frames I've had so far, when I got my zenith after riding the heavy tools it felt great for a while but I think thats down to the fact that it was a "proper" trials frame so doing the basics like backhopping and the like felt a hell of a lot easier than what I was used to. The Control's geo is very similar to the Zenith in terms of length and BB rise so there's not much difference since getting that built up but I don't feel at home like I do on my mod. It could be the fact that after all these years I've just realised that I'm a mod rider not a stock but I'd like to have a crack on something with a high BB first before I fully make that decision. I know some people will say that buying a £400 frame is a waste of money just to find I'm still not happy but if I'm willing to spend the cash then there should be no problem! Seem spot on for everything to be honest. A nice balance between weight and strength, nice stable geo. The tensioning system, although not the tidiest, is so easy and effective to use. I'd recommend one if you can get one. The original black and silver ones cracked due to an error from the factory making the top tubes too thin and the inclusion of internal hose routing holes, but that was quickly sorted with the white ones. matt.price
ive been riding for nearly two years now.. would i be able to cope with the 55 bb height? also ive been told by someone else that the new zhi is a good frame for the money.. however the bb on that is 60 ? help
Mark W
Not compensating for the BB rise with a higher stem would be fail. If you get a higher stem it shouldn't be so bad, but it'll still feel pretty weird at first.

Mark W
The High Rise stem might be a little better - the Sport stem's not super high...
