echo rider tom
I need a new hub as i am running an old deng adamant one on the rear and its dying slowly. Is it possible to convert a hope pro two to 116 spacing ? because i have heard about people cutting them down and welding bits back on but i dont know if it is a good idea and if it works. I would very much appreciate some personal opinions. Thanks Tom
isitafox
I run a Viz and a sealed onza and both seem to run well. How much are you looking at spending, are you bothered about weights??
Mark W
If you're buying new, for the price you'd pay for a Hope Pro 2 T and a set of spokes to lace it up (without factoring in the cost of having it modded to fit your frame), you could buy an Echo TR rear hub, set of spokes, Echo TR freewheel and a 12t sprocket - a pretty tidy setup that'd last you pretty well, and would work really well too. isitafox
I can vouch for the TR hubs as well as I ran one of those before I switched to a modstock!
echo rider tom
Im not to worried about weight but i would prefer to have a rear cassette.

Not on a mod, unless you mean mount the freewheel on the back which would lead to some very odd gear ratios. Or do you mean you want a freehub instead of a fixed?? PeanuckleJive
The echo TR rear has done me proud for a while too! If you really want a rear freehub, look at a profile?

Zoo!Man
I saw the new Speed Race rear hub, and I was astonished as soon as I noticed the price, weight and look. But then I read this: "Please note that the finishing quality of these hubs is not quite as high as we would like, so the price (despite the carbon centre) reflects this." What's the problem? (sorry if this has nothing with the topic >.<) EDIT: I've just seen the answer on other topic, thanks in any case mates! Mark W
It means functionally they're fine, but the aluminium sections could have been finished a little more neatly.
