jake-clements
I accidentally sprayed wd40 onto my disc and now my disc brake is nowhere near as good as it was before, how do I clean my disc? Thanks, Jake.
N.Wood
Meths on disk, take pads out and put in a small bath of meths (cut off coke can, fill to just above pads) and set alight.
Pushbikerider13
If you put the pads into a pan of water and washing up liquid then "bring to the boil and simmer for a few minutes". The fibres that the stopping surface are made of expand and all the junk floats to the top. Luckily for you wd40 is just a water dispersant and lubricating is low down on it's list of uses. CalopS
You need to clean your pads too if you used the disk with WD40 on. I wash the pads and disk with hot soapy water then put them in the oven for 10 mins.
