Loud Creak From Bb/seat Tube Area?

While riding today a loud creaking sound started to come either from my BB or the area around it on the frame. I need a larger wrench so i can take my BB out so i couldn't check tonight. Its getting louder and louder, and you can feel the creak through the cranks while pedalling, its quite off putting. The frame is a 2010 onza comp.

I have looked for cracks around that area and i don't THINK i have found on, but there is either a very questionable weld or a possible crack where the seat tube connects the the BB yoke, I'm averagely sure its not a crack.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be? And what i could do about it?

It started when i landed strange on a wall, i have already removed the cranks and cleaned greased everything but it just keeps getting louder.

Still no joy then?

Just a thought... Got a spare BB?

Might be BB bearings died.

No its got worse!

I have a tryall BB in the other frame, but the standard BB tool doesn't fit into the cups so i cant get it out.

If i manage to i will try it and see.

I had this really really badly a bit ago. I think we found out the reason for it was the crank arm had become loose/ deformed or something. I fixed it be using some sticky back aluminium tape and did a few layers of that over the end end of the BB arm bit. When I put everything back together it was returned to its former glory :)

So if i put my other cranks on this BB, and the cranks i have been using on the other BB, and see if it still happens on either of them, i will know which it is?

Yeah I guess that would work :) Mine felt distinctly creaky on one side so I didn't need to try and work out which side it was, it was the drive side that went on mine. My dad was saying its something to do with the BB being steel and the crank being aluminium which is obviously softer; so it deforms eaiser.

The non drive side is more creaky than the drive side on mine. I will try and get a new BB sorted out ASAP anyway.
