WIGAN ??
This is one of many on youtube!! this guy actually does it backwards to how i do it i dunno if it matters structurally but i do my inward ones first because its a bit tricky to get them in when the outward spokes are already in, http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html, thats the guide i learned on its the best one iv found so far you dont really need to read the whole lot just scroll down to the diagrams and have a read through the instructions
Pushbikerider13
This is only a little bit of advice but when I was building wheels I found it helpful to have a built wheel to look at for reference. Once you get into it wheel building is easy and quite relaxing. Don't be surprised if you ruin a few rims riding though. Have fun
trials owns
ah cheers lads, much appreciated. well now i wonna know if i will have to buy new spokes? or will mine do, im changing my hub from a onza t pro to a echo tr, with the same rim (ronnie drilled) and dont really have any money spare. so can i just use the same spokes? WIGAN ??
you could if the flange dimensions are near enough the same (within a few mm) but if its a massife difference then you probably will need new ones
trials owns
i will probs have to get some then. the flange diameters on onza t pro hub is 45mm and centre to flange is 27mm and on the echo it is, flange diameter is 40mm and centre to flanges is 36mm what do you think? cheers
Dan6061
Yeah, you'll need new spokes. Just tell Tartybikes (Guessing that's where you're ordering from!) what rim/hub you have, and they'll sort the rest out! Wheelbuilding is pretty easy once you get your head around it. I managed to confuse myself a couple of times trying to get the valve hole to land in the right place! But once you get it, it'll stick. trials owns
ah nuts, yeah i order from tarty, i did that last time and they cut the spokes.
WIGAN ??
yeah just remember too always work from the key spoke wich is next to the valve hole on the driveside its fairly steight forward and its obvious if youv made a mistake because the rest of the spokes dont work in
Ben John - Hynes
ah nuts, yeah i order from tarty, i did that last time and they cut the spokes. Just to let you know, spokes are made in a million different lengths by different manufacturers, it won't be tarty cutting them.
