Captain Scarlet
So as the title says, I have a problem with my XP desktop where the Windows Audio box in Services under Administrative tools constantly unchecks itself, sometimes whilst I'm using the computer, and always when I turn my computer off. The end result is of course no sound from iTunes, Youtube or anywhere, but I don't know why it keeps on unchecking itself! Any help would be much appreciated! anzo
Is it set to start Automatically? Have you set the failure options to restart the service? It could be that some third party software is interferring with this - never known an audio service to stop like that. What I would do is note when the service stops, go to the Event Viewer and check out the logs for what occurs at the time - most likely you'll be able to find the fault in there.
