fathopper
Bought the frame off ebay a while back for pocket money. And have only just built it up, after my topic a while back about wondering whether to try 24 inch, I thought for the price on ebay can't really go wrong, have built it up on a small budget of about 250 so far, but still needing a few bits to finish it off. So far I'm happy with it just getting to grips with how short it is compared to my Ozonys. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Ross McArthur
Cool. What kind of condition was it in when you bought it? Did you paint it yourself?
fathopper
Cool. What kind of condition was it in when you bought it? Did you paint it yourself? Was in pretty good nick, when I bought it no cracks, a few trials scars, but i rubbed them all down when I sprayed it from black to green. Will soon be looking for some forks or getting those converted somehow.
Ross McArthur
forks for sale Was the frame all black or did it have the decals on it?
fathopper
It was just a black frame, with an orbital xl headset silver, tarty decal on the forks, also came with azonic bars and unbranded short silver stem. Know who owned it?
Ross McArthur
Yes, I wanted it!!!!!!!! Its actually a prototype frame Edd Tongue rode. The whole frame is double butted tubing. Your a lucky man.
Skoze
Its actually a prototype frame Edd Tongue rode. The whole frame is double butted tubing. An ET that might not actually break too easily? I'm so jealous.
fathopper
I was actually worried it wasn't, as there were no kind of marks, and only a few pictures on the forum gallery to compare it to. I was also annoyed the forks which were sold with it weren't 24inch like advertised. But should be sorting that soon, it's a fairly cheap build at the moment, middle burns, and dv rims rear dmr hub with a fairly standard freewheel at the moment, ACS's I've been looking into. but want to get something like another eno, but they dont do them in lower than 18tooth, Had one on my ozony and is lasting pretty well. And very instant on the front. Looking forward to riding it properly once everything is all sorted out on it.
Skoze
Chat to Paul Oliver on here about getting mounts lowered, did mine for me and sent them back for very little cash
1a2bcio8
I've also got some 24" pashley forks for sale but in green - probably slightly darker than your frame though. Great condition (hardly used), £50 including insured p+p if interested.
Mark W
want to get something like another eno, but they dont do them in lower than 18tooth, Trialtech do their Sport 108 freewheel in 16t, if that's low enough for you? fathopper
Trialtech do their Sport 108 freewheel in 16t, if that's low enough for you? A 16 tooth is what I'm running at the moment along with a 24 tooth up front, nice to know that some decent trials freewheels do come in different tooth options. But will sooner be going to 22 upfront, its nice having it quite hard to put your weight behind, but just a little too stiff for a quick response. Hoping the weekend will provide some more play time. fathopper
Some more updated photos with new forks and pedals, riding pretty well now, the Vees are perfect on it....
TrialsMan Dan
Looking good, not sure on the stem though but if it rides good its a winner looking at the frame it seems the Effect has a few of the original ET genes in its design and the backend isnt too far off the old Inspireds Edited December 29, 2010 by TrialsMan Dan
JohnyMilton
Love these frames!
Skoze
Long stem, ewwwwwww What forks are those? Looks like you've got the same brake/rim width issues i had with the pair that came on mine. Unless you just haven't done the brake up of course :$
Ross McArthur
That stem looks fine. I used a longer one when I rode my ET.
fathopper
Onza zoot forks, seemed pretty good for the money as its a pretty budget build. Think of going for a higher stem or bar, but for the moment it rides fairly well with its current setup
