t-comp-kierz
Im thinking of going double disk as my maggis is just a hassle What are the pros/cons of going rear disk? And which is better Hope mono trial, Try all or the magura louise? Edited September 25, 2010 by t-comp-kierz
AlexxRogers
Pro's - Quiet, makes you look a smoother rider, modulation. Cons - Bending rotors I've got a 180 BB7 and it's working fine for me, and I'm 13 stone.

I would suggest mono trial. the try-all is just a re branded mono trial.. as said down side you can bend rotors up side, they work in the wet, make less noise... Do you get better hold/bite than a maggy?
Maladie
Pro's - modulation. In my opinion the modulation on the rear is not such a good thing. I prefer a good V for the on/off'ness
Kieran Morrison
Do you get better hold/bite than a maggy? Deffinitly better hold and the bite is pretty good.

Mark W
Do you get better hold/bite than a maggy? Definitely better hold, by miles! The bite's sorta... different. You definitely have to get used to the feel of it 'cos it does feel completely different to a Magura, but once you're used to it it's amazing. In my opinion the modulation on the rear is not such a good thing. I prefer a good V for the on/off'ness For natural and tech stuff the modulation is good because you still get the bite/hold you need, but for pure TGS street a rim brake might work a little better. Didn't bend a rotor once when I used rear disc. I only used a 160mm though so it was nice and tucked out the way. If you get a Mono Trial, you'll only need 160mm anyway... Rob.
Disc's are brilliant , i use the tryall disc brakes , bending rotors isnt a thing that always happens , but im left footed. If your disc is set up shit like crap bleed and so on your disc will work poo , if you set up good the disc will be fine , bitey , holdy , strongy. you can have a really good magura set up which kicks disc ass! Kenny--Trials
If you are like me and want to ride whenever , get a disc. They work in wet and dry (and with english weather, this is a handy attribute.)
