manuel
The 550d does video too, much less money too. this. but beware - lenses can = $$, they aren't that easy to actually use as video cameras - no autofucus, no antishake and manual pretty much everything. They also have some very weird effects if you use them in certain ways ... Plus side is you wont see better video quality in a "proper" video camera for thousands of pounds (when you hit the sweet spot)... if you want a decent HD video camera you can get something like a canon HF10/100 which is pretty awesome value for image quality that will be very easy to use... Oh and the other thing to factor in is editing... modern HD cameras use AVCHD which is a bit of a killer on processing power... I had to upgrade to an i7 920 + 6GBram + 2*1TB hd to get something useable for doing video often... (previous was a dual core @ 2.5 ish GHz I seem to remember) luckily for me Urban legend was working for intel at the time ....

Is that so? So if you set your lens to autofocus, it can't handle it on video?

No. You can use it to "set" focus but you cant track. you can reset the focus by half pressing the shutter button but it will just look pants usually because of the way camera lenses focus. (Im sure it could look decent on some lenses, but my only auto lens is shit, oh and the camera also does metering etc and blitzes the video with some weird stuff)
