hello there. I made the Carbon seat for Tom as a proto type. It snapped as i didn't use a Clear Gel coat for strength and didn't get the perfect finish. Also Tom was giving the bike a "diet" so weight had to be dropped on the seat as well. Managed to get the seat to 42.2g, almost 14g lighter than the plastic one! But yes it snapped! The one i use has 2 layers of gel coat and 1 layer of carbon and weighs in at 61g, 5g heavier but stronger. The mould i made is breaking up a little and a new one will be made when i get the time at work to do it. I will post a thread up when i have a finished product that i'm 100% happy with. Hope this is useful in future to anyone.

you are making them out of a different material in fairness..

and they are not exactly available to buy..

if you changed the design a little?

look at RB Products with magura levers?

It is a grey area I suppose. but as mentioned above would be best to get in touch with him.

and i know what you mean about the man who got you into trials

i saw his display at chester in august of 2007 - and ever since wanted to get in trials, reading his columns in mbuk etc. Now finally got his bike, Just trying to restore it to its former glory :)
