Der Kaiser, Is It Worth The "weight"?

Hey All, i am new to trial. i usually do xc on my yeti. just got czar 07 stock for my first bike. used and abused at a decent price. i am fixing it up with new rims and tires. and i am conflicted between trying out the new trial specific tires from continental and der kaiser. i am a big fan of conti. they are fast. i use raceking supersonics on my yeti race bike and mountain king on my other bikes. seems like a lot of light weight competition bikes such as slate II uses der kaiser. when its actual weight is more that 1250gram. for xc, we spend a lot of money to shave off weight of our wheel set because it counts as 30% of the bike's overall weight. if you spend big money on a 1.5kg frame only to use a 1.2kg tires...Is it worth the weight??? how good are they???

continentals are crap mate, kenda nevagel dh or freeride 2.5 in the stickee compound, great grip, nice and bouncy and pretty much puncture proof! (Y)

i love the uninformed....

the der kaiser is brilliant dude. bounces, great spring, decent grip and great puncture resistance from my experiences.

If you want bomb proof, go with a maxxis minion or highroller dual ply, however the der kaiser has been failful to me since i got it.

alrighty, der kaiser for the rear and what about the front?? stick to speed king 2.1 or opt for a 2.3 instead?

as for the brakes, i got the czar second hand, the rear uses echo sl, and front and old mis matched magura-shimano combo. just got a fresh pair of hs33 brakes. should i opt to install front and rear rim brakes? light grind the new rim as well? trialtech sport rim at the back and echo tr rim at the front...waddaya think Mr.Travis?
