Simpson
You did really well to make a video that I watched to the end, let alone a 10min vid! Superb work dudes, super tech, super flowy, super street Love it.
Mark W
You guys give me real hope that everything I love and believe is special about trials is still alive and hasn't been lost to nothing but static moves and weight saving. To see a video where bikes actually roll is incredible in itself but a video this good is something truly special. It amazes me how many 'bicycle videos' debt actually feature any momentum or movement other than upwards. Moves aside (which were something in themselves) I think this videos real success is how well it captures and portrays a love for riding and to me epitomises everything great about biking and I certainly look forward to any more to come. Wow - cheers dude Much appreciated. Good to know people like it, anyway. Definitely going to be more in the future. By the time we wrapped up filming for this we were already planning the next, so that'll be out before we get dominated by winter...

Matthew62
Can't wait! I could imagine some fun winter videos all the same. The only thing i'd love to see is your videos but filmed on something that could add a bit of DoF and add to the quality. I think if you filmed on a HD DSLR it would look absolutely amazing. I'm aware these come at a cost though.

Luke Dunstan
How long did it take to get used to brakeless? as in before it stopped feeling strange??
Stan Shaw
How long did it take to get used to brakeless? as in before it stopped feeling strange?? I would probably say around a few weeks. At first it is very weird as I'm sure Mark will remember my first ride at Blackpool You also tend to overshoot everything haha. Once you've got your head around it, it's just a case of applying what skill you already have but without brakes. Certain moves need tweaking for them to work without brakes. I think it also improves your commitment to pulling lines and reacting to what the bikes doing. With brakes you can generally stop for a second or two and think what you need to do, but without brakes you don't get that, and that's one of things I like most about brakeless riding. Again, thanks for the comments everyone, they are very much appreciated! Edited September 15, 2010 by Stan Shaw
Mark W
Felt awesome pretty much from the get-go You just constantly build confidence with it. I found that it sort of mirrors 'real' trials in the same way that you're sort of unsteady, then get used to balancing, then get used to balancing on the back wheel, etc. I can still remember being scared to do drops from back wheel, then they just sort of 'clicked' and I was fine. Pretty much the same with every other move, and much the same for the trials in general.
Matt Vandart
I suppose you rode/ride bmx brakeless Mark?
Mark W
For the past 4 years Timeline: Trials (mod): 2000 - 2006 BMX: 2006-now. Trials (mod): Late '09 - Early '10 24: Early 10 - now. It's sort of different to that though, simply because the situations are a lot different. BMX brakeless is more about dealing with speed, and doing more sort of tech lines. With trials, it's mainly about being comfortable at a standstill, on the back wheel and putting the power down. sayshell
You should have name cards, I can't tell who is who. Anyways I liked the guy on the brown inspired. Stylin. The extra 180s at the end of everything were cool. Both were really good though. When he 180ed that huge stair flight was that a bump jump? Its hard to make a video with that long and still not have filler clips. good job. Editing was good too. Its better to have everything as stickers than computer titles. Computer effects are just cheesy. Edited September 19, 2010 by sayshell
Mark W
Both our bikes changed colours while we were filming - easiest way to identify them is that I wore either a silver or white helmet, and Stan just wears a black helmet That 180 up the set was a bump 180, yeah. I wasn't happy with the rollback (bitch hopped), so I tried it again which led to the pinch-flat I got in the 'extras' section. Glad you liked it anyway I don't really like working on computer titles too much so it was a lot more fun just using stickers. Trying to work out what we're going to do with that for the next video - still want to avoid using computer stuff if possible.
Ali C
search for any iolo vids, he had some crazy intro ideas that didn't involve computers (think making toast to say the brand name on and stuff)
Skoze
Easily the best vid i've seen this year, getting back on a bike can't come soon enough now!
