cthomson
Recently I have been building up an Inspired Fourplay, and I've gotten to the point where I need to decide on a drive train. So, I'm looking for suggestions on what gearing I should use. (single speed) Thanks, Cole A picture of my bike so far.

isitafox
Not sure bout drivetrain but I think what Danny suggested gets mentioned a lot with 24's. Pic of the bike though is very nice so far!!

cthomson
i saw it on pinkbike and was gonna ask you what are the rims so what are the rims , trialtech? haha, they're actually Halo. I didn't want to go with a trials rim because I'm just starting out, and thought I might bend it or something. so yeah... Halo

Halo Trials rims are probably stronger for learning on, depending on what rim you get.

It basically works as a ratio by dividing one by the other. 24:18 (24/18) = 1.333 whereas 18:12 (18/12) = 1.5 (a higher number being a harder gear). You can then go back the other way to find out what rear cog would suit an 18T front to give the same ratio: 18/1.333 = 13.5 so a 13T will be slightly harder than 24:18 and a 14T will be slightly easier. They're Halo Combat rims, once I've got some more money, I'll probably get myself some different rims though. These ones are supposed to be pretty strong. cthomson
I'm looking at buying a front threaded 23T cog. What brand should I go with? Nothing too expensive, but not so cheap that I'll break it in the first week.
Mark W
Trialtech - wider base so they're less likely to strip your cranks
