Revolver
Apple stuff IS pretty nuts. They manage to squeeze a whole, pretty good computer into a monitor.
Bronz
I think the £430 I paid for my iPad was very reasonable considering the amount of use it does and will continue to get. It's an incredibly well built bit of kit, does exactly what it says on the tin and more, and does it well. I also miscalculated the amount of people I know that own them, it's way over 7 or whatever I said, but they all really love them.
Ali C
I would like one, but I can't justify spending that much on one. If I am having to carry something around in a bag rather than in my pocket, I want it to do more than be good for watching videos and going online. I would want to be able to edit videos, write documents, print from it and play proper pc games. If it can do those however, one would be much more tempting. I have a video editing app on mine. It can work with all office documents. Over bluetooth it might be able to print to a bluetooth printer. And someone's recently written a gaming engine thingy (I am a total gaming noob) to demo some graphics and speed to rival a PC. My mate has the demo installed on his iPad and it is impressive! Edit: Quick Google search tells me there are lots of apps to allow printing from the iPad Edited September 13, 2010 by Bronz

Bronz
For the people who say the iPad needs Flash, the industry just needs to adopt the newer methods. This is a great example of not using Flash, because you don't need to: http://www.phoboslab.org/biolab/ …And someone's recently written a gaming engine thingy (I am a total gaming noob) to demo some graphics and speed to rival a PC. konstant
I agree that flash isn't the future, especially not for video, but I really dislike the way that Apple tries to tell the industry what it should and shouldn't be doing. There is a place for flash and Froyo has proven that it can work very well on mobile devices. Apple is beginning to backpedal - they've finally bothered to write a proper API for GPU acceleration in OS X and last week did a complete U turn on their decision in May to ban alternative iOS SDKs. Hence Adobe is dusting off Flash Packager for iPhone which will eventually allow flash apps to run on iOS - the thing that Jobs made all the fuss about in the first place. And then there's this... /rant Edited September 14, 2010 by konstant
