  1. 1. I have (a) Deng...

    • Frame and four or more components - but not completely. See option 6.
    • Frame and three or less components
    • No frame, but four or more components
    • No frame, but between one and three components
    • Completely Deng free.
    • Completely Deng. It's at the bottom 'cause I forgot to put it in, and can't be bothered to shift them all down one.

As the rest of the post said, I'm talking about the UK MARKET, not each individual bike.

That's a decent threshold for "not many" and "quite a few" Deng components to be set at.

Great, but you can only survey the uk market via sales figures or questioning people about their bikes. 3-4 isn't quite a few, i'ts less than 20% of the bike.

Besides, I've already asked you to leave me alone and stop responding to my posts. I don't give you hastle, please stop giving it to me.

Piss off.

It's a forum. Deal with it.

It's not that bad for getting an idea of what people out there run? Does it really matter that much if 3/4 components isn't a set amount of a bike? Sure, you won't be able to really quantify things much but you'll get a rough idea of what sort of stuff people run, especially with people posting up as well as just voting in the poll (Y)

I'm another no-Denger, not really through strict choice just that there have been other parts available that I've chosen over his kit.

It's pretty bad. It's basically just 'None, a few, a lot or all'. Then with percentages and numbers applied to those kind of non-numerical findings.

Suppose he does have a point, if a trials bike had to have a set amount of components it would be a bit more accurate but you've gotta think that people who run maguras have more components than those who use discs, and the same again for single speed against multi geared, and then you could run quick release skewers to add another component in, bar end plugs, seat, no seat, etc.....

Yeah, you would have to disregard the items that introduce too much in the way of variables and limit it to like front brake, back brake, rims, etc. The only truely accurate representation would be sales figures, public polls nearly always introduce slight innaccuracies due to variables.

Don't go deleting my posts this time - I'm the maker of this thread, and I'm 100% fine with it getting clogged up.

Piss off.

Don't you two live together?

Why the aversion to Deng?

N.B. - Not in the defensive way... In the curious way.

Coincidence more than anything, when I first used to ride properly he wasn't really about and then it was only Echo and a few Zoo things, so I mostly had Koxx and Onza stuff, then I quit for a few years when he sprang up with Gu, Adamant, Czar etc. When I started up again I bought a Ciguena 24" second hand which came with the forks, and I've spent all my money turning it into a really typical looking street 24" bike, which doesn't really have much need for Deng stuff.

The fact that I'm from the old school as it were, means I trust and like all the old parts from my era rather than the stuff I haven't tried, for example, I was recently on the hunt for Fatty R forks before finding my Identiti ones which suit my frame more.

I did want an Echo Pure back in the day though.
