Alex Dark
Need some decent long lasting shoes, decent grip and under about £40.... just something that will work well, came off a few days ago due to shit grip. Was thinking Duffs 4130's , Nike 60.0's...any suggestions?
Otacon
I read the first bit, then noticed youve only got like £40, Ive spent like £20-£40 on skate style shoes for riding in the past and ive had 2 months out of them at most. So my laast two pairs, I've brought Etnies, first pair were £80, second pair were £110. First pair lasted 12 months, and this pair still look brand new after 6 months use ! Its deffo worth spending that little bit more, cause in the long run, it works out cheaper IMO.
trialsmax04
I use my 6.0's alex seem all goof to me. Not the cheepest shoe, but as danny said paying more is better in the long run...

weirdoku
I found a pair of black globes in tkmax for £20, I've had them for over 6 months. But they are now pretty battered, soles are coming off!
Dan6061
I've got Nike 6.0 Mids, and they're perfect. Very tatty now, and definately need changing, but they're SO comfy, and have lasted well.

How the f**k can you even wear shoes out in 2 months? Mine have never even bedded in properly by that time.
forteh
TK maxx for cheap skateshoes Etnies are one of the hardiest shoes Ive used, DC's seem to fall apart too quickly; duffs are usually very, very good, I would say on par with etnies. Modern airwalk and vans dont seem to last these days, just arent made aswell as they used to be. Most of my shoes last a good 4-5 years before they start getting knackered. Muel
I had 3 pairs of DCs from TK Maxx, lasted about 6 months each but I used them for college for about 3-4 months first until they got shitty, then rode in them. I then got a pair of Globes, wore them at college for a year and used them for riding since then, so about a year out of them. (Of almost not riding at all). Best wear life was the Globes though. forteh
Ive got some globes aswell, 20 quid and theyre really hard wearing, something about them makes my foot cramp though when riding, not sure if its the sole or perhaps Ive just not ridden in them enough
Otacon
Yeah, same. Only mine lasted 42 times longer. Yeah but im Danny Kearns, and EVERYTHING i own breaks in silly short amounts of time, forks, a month
Revolver
I bought the shimano AM40 shoes.. they were maybe £60 or £70, the grip on the pedals from them is phenomenal, and they've lasted a good 6 months or more so far, looks like I'll get another 6 months at least, maybe a year. Max Quinn
Kris, do you go out in these 8 year old trainers? Aren't you the one always banging on about game with the ladies or am I getting confused here? Cause' i only have one pair on trainers for everything, riding, walking, running, football etc. Eeewwww, f**k playing football in skate shoes. Edit: To be on topic, for long lasting shoes that feel amazing, just go for the classic superstars or stan smith, stylish too and I love riding in them, they just morph to your feet perfectly without all this extra unnecessary foam padding. Krisboats
Kris, do you go out in these 8 year old trainers? Aren't you the one always banging on about game with the ladies or am I getting confused here? No, most places won't do skate shoes so i have a pair of smart black ones purely for a night out. If by always banging on you mean a few posts a year ago, whilst being in (and still) an 18 month long relationship then... yeah? Actually though, tell a lie. I did have a pair of walking boot things for a bit during winter the year before last. They've not been dragged out the closet since though. Krisboats
Smart black shoes for a night out? Be real! Whats wrong with black leather shoes on a night out? Bear in mind i don't get a huge choice of styles given i'm a uk 15 so don't have the latest coolest trainers or £150 pair of G-star rubbish readily available in my size. Mark W
I hate riding in cup sole shoes so strictly ride in vulcanised ones. As a result, that means my results are probably different to everyone else's, but vulcanised sole Etnies shoes are shit for riding in. They've got a really shallow "VVVVVVV" style pattern which isn't that grippy in the first place, then as soon as they've worn slightly flatter they just have no grip whatsoever. Really not good. Disappointing 'cos they usually look nice. Other than that, I just ride in Vans all the time. Super grippy, best pedal feel out of any shoe out there, look super good, available in loads of options, last a reasonable amount of time. I usually get 3 months or so out of mine, maybe 4 if I'm lucky, but that's just 'cos I seem to move my feet around quite a bit when I ride, plus spins seem to kill shoes... Anyways, if you can find some cheap vulcanised sole Vans shoes anywhere then they're worth going for Sticking with companies with some sort of pedgree in riding or skating is always a good idea. I bought a £20 pair of Quiksilver shoes in some mental final clearance sale at TK Maxx - they look cool, have a nice sort of velcro tab ankle support bit and are generally nice to wear, but I've worn them loads already. Protip: If you can find shoes with a uniform pattern for the sole, then go for them over ones that have a changing pattern. They always seem to be in the wrong place, which is what's happened with these Quiksilver ones. Looked like they'd be in the right place, but my rear pedal pins line up just below the waffle sole section at the front. Not ideal.
Leistonbmx
Rollersnakes always have sales, 2 pairs for 50 or something. Depends what they are.
