Captain Scarlet
Literally just found quite an important *.pdf related to my uni course 2 weeks before I start. I am doing a film and television production course, and to store video data in raw format/rendered format etc we are obliged to buy a hard drive to store upon. The specification need to be a minimum of 1 terabyte storage and firewire 800 transfer. I have seen a few about and have obviously done my Google searches but as this kit needs to last me my 3 years I don't want to buy myself a ropey one. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in a particular make or ones to not go near. The second is a decent set of headphones for audio/sound editing, again these need to last me my 3 years and I really don't know where to begin, I'm talking actual headphones as in-ear ones are not adequate apparently. I'm prepared to pay a fair amount but obviously not ridiculous amounts that some span to. So really it was just checking what you all personally recommend, I know there's a couple of people here who have done respective uni courses or are quite experience in video editing, want to hear your opinions! Thanks guys... Tom

Thanks guys... Tom I use Sennheiser HD25's for music production and DJ'ing, can't fault them. I got mine for £99 about 2 years ago, I assume they've come down in price. Look after 'em and they'll last you as long as you want - if you do break anything they sell spares on eBay anyway. Mine are two years old and look brand new still. Honestly mate, it's different league. The Sennheisers are pro audio, the Behringers are budget bedroom DJ ones.

Agreed, but he didn't include a budget, and ridiculous amounts doesn't give much insight, so I was just chipping in with something that's significantly better than most in-ears that are out in shops, but not in the regions of £
Muel
I've got Golding DR50s, they're good to my ears and get OK reviews.

Mine are two years old and look brand new still. Agreed on the brand. Somewhat cheaper - I have the Sennheiser HD215's. They're no match for the 25's, but they sound rather damned nice, and are still comfy after being worn for a good few hours at a time. Not the best - just giving you more options if you want something cheaper. I'm no expert - but most Sennheiser headphones seem to be a good way to go. Edit: It seems they've gone UP in price quite considerably. I just looked them up. When I got them a couple of years ago, they were £30 on Amazon. Now they're £55 Edited September 9, 2010 by aener
