To be fair, I completely understand you and we are going miles off topic but I also managed to successfully bin my pug 205 a few times and that was only a 1.1l. Its lack of experience that gets you.

Either way.

Drugs are bad.

What makes me chuckle is people that say age/experience make no difference are usually people that are too young to have either.

Do young people not think that us old untsc were young and inexperienced once?

And thought we knew it all?

And were better than oldies at everything?

And found out and are still finding out that we knew shit and still know shit compared to what we will know and experience in the rest of our lives?

The arrogance of youth is astounding, I should know I am looking at it with the benefit of having already been young and arrogant/deluded.

It is a fact, experience comes with age, there is no arguement, it can only be that way.

Discounting numbnuts and thick twats and, dare I say it, most women, a driver that has the most experience is less likely to crash when driving at speed, up to the point before their brain begins to degenerate and they join the numbnuts, thick twats and the majority of women.

Any fool can drive a car fast, it's easy, as Muel said it is hazard perception that comes with experience (which is for the majority gained with age), knowing when a car is about to loose traction, spotting deisel/spills, just knowing which willy is gonna pull out on you/into your lane while u are doing 135 down the motorway.

You just develop a 6th sense for it all, from past experience.

In the purely hypothetical scenario, the car's a gift so you can't sell it. You have the choice to drive it, or not to drive it. And I don't think many people would turn that down.

Probably not. Personally I would never trust myself with such a car. I had the same problem with the S2000 which was very unforgiving, I was scared of driving it but despite that, I still drove it fast.

The car reached the middle of the corner, found some diesel, swapped ends, slid across the oncoming lane backwards and into a ditch and a hedge.

Surely the state should pay out? It's their responsibility to keep the roads safe. How did it end?

Really? If you won one in a competition (fully insured etc) you'd just turn it down on the basis that it might be dangerous? I think I would get it and floor it at every opportunity! It might be a bit dangerous but I doubt anyone on here would refuse that sort of car, it's just jealousy talking.

I didn't mean i would turn one down, i just wouldn't trust myself not to push it every now and then or drive it the same way i would with an every day car.

Doesn't work like that over here, sadly.

He crashed so its his fault, blah blah blah.

I just saw Dan, petrol station local to me. He was driving a stickered up new civic type r, i only looked closer when i spotted a little ko-bikes sticker on it. Then saw him get out, i was stunned! Propper random, considering how far away he lives etc.

Just thought id share that completely useless fact

yeah but someone brings him up later in the thread Muel

Yeah it's different here Alex, Unless we could prove the council were negligent/liable there'd be no payout. But we were both fine and the damage was suprisingly minimal to the MGF, only a smooth wet grass and soft sapling hedge luckily! It needed a dent popped and a spray on the back end and a new back box but other then that all was well!!

I'm 27 and I wouldn't trust myself with an R8! Forget the fact that it is dangerous, I'd be far more bothered about how capable it is. To have any sort of fun in it you would have to drive a lot faster than other cars on the road. Its ability to overtake everything quickly would tempt me to do aggressive maneuvers. I'm pretty sure if I didn't crash it I would lose my license very quickly. I have enough trouble staying legal in my 90hp 306, and that makes windy roads at 60mph feel pretty damn fast! I don't think anyone would refuse it though, just take it and sell it. To think what you could do with that sort of money, an R8 is a big waste in my eyes!

This is true - in my opinion certainly. They are some of the reasons why I recently sold my Z4-M because to get real excitement out of it you ended up at silly speeds very quickly. Also, I was certainly more ambitious with overtaking manoeuvres too. Still like fast cars but something for the track maybe a better option next time, or having said that, something that is very special so it becomes more about the ownership than the outright speed. For example if I had a Lotus Carlton (cult car love to have one) or a Ferrari F355 (such a great looking car) it would be about the history and rarity.

Hello Everyone,

Its been a rather long time since I last been on here, I actually heard about this Topic on here through Kyle.L when he mentioned it to me tonight during a ride.

Firstly I must say that I find most of the statements made in this thread terribly amusing yet ridiculous.

I bought the warehouse as an investment and was rented out early January 2010 to a company based in Bristol who was looking to expand through the midlands and needed storage space, they was in "florist" industry.

I literally found out about this operation on the very same day the police raided the unit, as a friend from another unit called me and told me. I was completely shocked and gobsmacked that a operation like this was happening in one our premises!

Just for the record to people who actually think I was involved in such disgusting activity you are absolutely wrong.

Tarty doesn't make R8 money anyway, markup on trials parts is shite over here, dunno what it's like in other countries.

The whole trials market is very small and on top of that its niche, and there is not a lot of money in it at all. The margins are terrible yet some are more generous (Brands from China), however you will need to sell volume in order to make anything that's reasonable, and for the investment vs return its not the best business to go into. If the trials market was profitable then most major bike manufacturer would of been involved along time ago.

I started the business in trials when I was ages 16/7 as a hobby as at the time there was a real big problem in obtaining trials specific products, and I took this opportunity to help the whole community out through sourcing the products for people which eventually turned into a business.

See that's fine until he loses it while showing off to his mates, plows into a bus stop or family coming the other way and kills a few innocent people. It's just too much car for someone so young. I don't even want to consider the insurance bill. Sure most people would accept it if offered but I for one would've expected to be thoroughly hated/bullied/murdered for being such a spoilt little brat.

Dave, I read all your replies in this thread and its all beef against myself. I have no issue for you to dislike me for your personal reason that's fine, but for the record I do not mind you and in-fact you was one of the very first trials riders I used to ride with back in 2003/4 ? when trials all began, I'm sure you remember we used to ride together many years ago!

But back to your reply:

I don't understand you have the assumption that I drive like an ass and "show off"? for a start I do not show off, in fact i do not go advertising around what car I drive and what not, it was leaked onto this forum through another user, and not myself, I do not enjoy or like bragging or showing off. The insurance is not as your assuming. From your last statement I get the point that you are very envious of young drivers who are fortunate enough to have a fancy car? I have many friends who's driving GTR'S, Panameora's, SLS, SLR, Gallado's.. I don't think you have the right to hate/judge someone purely by what they're driving, and if you do its down to one thing: Envious
