Koxx Frames

Paul's snapped a yabaa. He's naw joined the koxx scene.

K-124 Are a good company imo, Koxx bikes are strong, its just down to the rider themselves; you cant launch any frame into anything, with-out an outcome.

Look at the race bmx's made by koxx, they are actully rather cheap.

If my frame was to snap, i would happily get a koxx again.

They are not going to make a crap heavy frame, just to slap some nice graphics on.

But i must admit, it would sell well i think; but why would they need to, i'd say Koxx are one of the largest trials-specific companies out there. Then i think its a close comp. between deng and Monty.

People are going to buy there frames for loads of reasons. where as you dont really see deng in any comps.

Its a koxx specialised material too! so its probably not cheep to buy.

EDIT: while i'm asking questions i don't serpose koxx have any proto types out or planning to make some more frames are they?

Very interested as well. Do they have any proto 20 frames?

Don't mean to sound rude but in what ways are koxx massivly better than monty? Except for shape lol. And while on the topic of overpriced frames... is it true that a mod rocman is a horrible ride?

well, from my experience, when I had a white camel, it was all crooked. One dropout was 20 mm higher than the other one, and the bash plate mount is a long story. It took me 1,5 hours to mount a bashplate on a frame. Isn't that enough?

I NO frame is designed to be hit into walls, irrespective of it's weight or price tag.

My russian friend is widely known because of his 2-2,5 meter drop-gaps to front. His silver sky snapped in 6 months.

Someone also mentioned that having pretty similar geo's, manus and sky ride very different.

Monty frame- about £600

If only, try almost doubling that!

I remember the XTP being the top of the line frame, and that was £500

I think it was £799 and that was when the Euro exchange rate was around 1.45/£. Recently it was around 1.05/£ which instantly makes what used to be a £799 frame £1103!

Does anybody think it would be cool to have a strong koxx frame with the graphics of a siver sky on it? 'Cos the silver sky is really nice!

Yes and no.. Yes because I would have one it would look fantastic and ride amazing. No because everyone else would have it and it wouldn't be a 'rear' frame.

Very interested as well. Do they have any proto 20 frames?

Koxx proto?

some paint + lacquer + base + some stickers - Not more than 100-120 i guess

Edit:

I don't know about frames, but the picture below clearly shows a new front tyre

Do Koxx "Send the boys round" if you don't?

I noticed the other day that you had >15,000 posts, and wondered how the hell you managed it. Reading this thread, I got my answer

Thanks for defending Koxx - I had similar thoughts, but no idea how to express them - and no-one else seems to be doing it.

I have kinda scaned this topic looking at the ' arguement'.

Koxx are a premium brand, so you will pay a premium price.

do you go onto specsavers forum and ask why are oakleys so much money when i can get 3 pairs of sun glasses for a tenner?

or e- mailing intense and asking why there frames are £2000 when you can get a full suspension bike from tesco's for 70 quid....

its all in context - Koxx have been a premium brand for years, like echo( deng) have been the mid range and Onza were the cheepies.

the same reason you can get an mp3 player for 30 quid but an i pod stings you for 150 +

i have many an example.........

Got a reminder of this thread and how nice Sky frames are today getting photos of the Red Sky frame - they're just so good. Compare that disc mount to, say, the Monty 231...

Plus the general quality of the frame overall - it's just really nice. Not cheap, but you do get a good frame for the money.

I'm genuinely not convinced that it would really work like that, in terms of either frame strength, whether it'd be something people would want to buy and whether they'd actually be any good. Equally, Koxx are essentially just a high end comp brand. Apologies for the constant car analogies, but you don't really see Koenigsegg making a cheap shitter purely so people can have their badge on their car? In terms of not wanting to dilute the brand, I think it makes more sense for Koxx to not really offer a watered down version of their frames, especially as opening up into that market offers a whole host of problems in terms of the abuse people give frames, having to deal with warranty claims, having to see people bad-mouthing your brand because they had Part X that broke in Y months, etc.
