ZooRYDER
Hi, could any possibly give me some insite to this topic? I am wondering what the pros/cons of high riser bars are? I am riding a custom built ZOO! Python with flat'ish bars, and i am just wondering whether to spend the money on some high risers or not? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jack. I know your just a newbie mate, but please dont use writing that big just write normal. High riser is sort of a fail for mod, and flat bars are not great, Just get normal risers. Trial tech ones are brilliant

Anything to help a fellow member of the forum out And according to the Trialtech website they are the best risers available, possibly the truth or possibly just to boost the bars they sell, who knows! krazykid009
Any decent set of bars will do to be honest mate. I'm currently running a set of Race Face Evolve DH risers on my stock, and they work great. I think they retail for 22quid with free postage on chain reaction here: Linkomatic James Edit: Oh by the Way mate, where bouts in Bristol are you from? That sounds more in my price range, i will have to check out all the reviews! I live near Yate. You know where that is? Where do you ride? Do you know Scott/Jack Gray? Im starting to ride Bristol now, so trying to get validated so i can post on the 'rides' section to arrange and meet at rides. You want to meet up sometime? Jack. You want to meet up sometime? Jack. I'm in Frampton, so literally half an hours ride from you at most. I think it took me 20 to ride to Terry's Cycles the other week. I mostly ride the benches, walls and play areas in Winterbourne when I'm out with mates. Got no bike at the moment as It's still being built up. I don't know Scott or Jack, do they ride? What about you, what do you ride and is there much riding in Yate? James

ZooRYDER
Yea Scott and Jack both ride. There is quite bait around Yate, but I'm starting to use the train to get to Bristol and Weston super mare. You should join us when your bikes built, what you building? Is there many people that ride around you? Jack.

Mark W
The Trialtech High Rise bars were made after Rick Koekoek was requesting them, and bearing in mind Rick owns on a mod then there's literally no reason at all not to run them on a mod. Every bike we've put them on here has felt great.

dann2707
. Them, used with a better stem (I'm using a trial tech) completely transformed the front end of my bicycle.

Im building a Diamondback Kabuki Mono just to use until I get my Onza Bird in November for my Birthday. Are there any specific places in Yate that are especially good. What is the shopping centre like. Thanks James
ZooRYDER
Are you any good? How long you been riding? I will have to show you yate soon! Jack.
krazykid009
To be completely honest mate I am appalling, I just about have rear wheel hops sorted, and can get up onto objects about my wheel height by rolling onto them, and then get off them again, but I do a lot of tricks over people, as It's what we have really in Frampton, plus it looks a lot cooler to watch than rolling onto a bench and then hopping off. The reason I'm building this bike is so that I can try and improve ready for when I get my mod, as before I was riding a dirt jump style setup with rigid forks and lower gears. I've been riding mountain bikes all my life, but only really go into trials in the last 8 or 9 months or so. It'd be good to meet up with some other riders though. What about yourself? ZooRYDER
So you've never had a trials bike? I'm just starting really... Can do quite a bit now, but still basic. krazykid009
Well I'm just waiting for a bottom bracket to come through and then I have got one. I managed to ride it for a few days before the BB disintegrated so bit gutted at that. Just got to pick it up from the post office tomorrow morning before school and build it up so I can ride it there. James

Forget almost all the things you hear unless you've actually got experience with it. Risers are best on pretty much everything, flats just feel f**king awful. I am of course referring to normal risers like monty/ try-all/ trialtech etc bars, i used to run 3" high Funn's on my Leeson and wouldn't dream of putting them on anything really trialsy. Oh and Zooryder - sorry dude but i lost your number. Brake's been sold now, sorry! Edited September 7, 2010 by Skoze
