zombieknees
I am hoping to buy a used bike for beginner who wants hydraulics but I don't really know why ordinary brakes wont do and maguras seem to bump up the price. Are they worth it?
trials owns
its personal preference, i don't like the cheap crappy v brakes but they are good for learning the basics and see if they like the sport, i like hs33 for a really nice leaver feel and are bloody strong. well worth the money if they are committed to the sport. monty ash.m
my old maguras held amazing or if that isn't enough give yourself a grind or some tar but v brakes can be just as powerful if they are set up right also you can buy adapters so that you can use hydrolic pads hope it helped, ash
Luke Dunstan
You need confidence that your brakes will hold, Don't cheap out on them, and get some decent V's at least, they don't have to be expensive.

Are they worth it? normal brakes dont have the power for you to fully comitt to a move. ther ok for begginers but if ur serious about riding you will only end up replacing them wen you improve.
