Greetings
Has anyone on here played with this toy? I'm thinking about getting one since it seems like a lot of fun and could be absorbing but I'm a bit worried that with my complete lack of programming knowledge I'll get stuck as soon as I finish piecing the bricks together. These are supposedly for 7 year olds but surely given the complexity of various designs on the net (mostly coming from people studying robotics) this isn't as easy as it may seem? Basically what I'm trying to avoid is spending 250 quid on something that will just get me frustrated. Any leads?
Revolver
I had this when I was younger, lol. I never bothered with my own programs though, but you can make some pretty cool stuff with it if you do. The basic ones that were built in were enough for a little run around robot thing. That's what I'd like to do. Is the programming text-based or does it have a GUI?
omgnoseat
It has a very simple IDE which even kids can use, you shouldn´t worry about not understanding it, no programming experience is required I was thinking of getting it, but the price is way to steep for me. If i hasn't changed since when I had it, it was jigsaw like pieces you dragged and dropped that created, basically, a flow chart.
Tom Booth
I made a sick crane with Lego Mindstorms when I was little. Worked awesome. It's preeety simple stuff to create and program, its nothing complex at all.
