Dan_flea4
I haven't been back onto trials that long after a 12 year gap and am slowly getting my bike to a setup that suits me. I'm pretty much there now but it's time for a new tensioner. At the mo I'm using a fixed dmr one and it hasn't took long to realise that it's shocking. Want to move on to a sprung tensioner so wondering which ones are good. Need one that can take a beating because it's on the side I side hop. Luke Rainbird
Something like a Rohloff will give great performance but is still in the way a tad. Perhaps a 74kingz style arrangement would suit you? How much slack does the tensioner need to take up, is there a lot of excess chain? Yer there's a far bit of excess chain
Luke Rainbird
Not enough to remove a link from the chain though I assume? If not then a double wheeled sprung tensioner such as the Rohloff is probably your best bet since they take up more slack than a single wheel/roller/etc tensioner like the Kingz offering
Mark W
Can also tweak some sprung tensioners to sit pretty high, up and inside your chainstay...
