modifiedridah2k9
Alright guys. My birthday on saturday :wizard: <- closest i could get to a birthday hat . And I'm getting an SL freewheel. I'm just wondering if there is anything i need to do to it before i whack it on. Do i need to grease it/lube it/ oil it? Or put it on the way it comes out of the box? cheers, Kieran. Matt Burrows
Clean and grease the threads on the cranks and freewheel. Screw on by hand and be careful not to cross the threads. Then tighten up the final bit either by tool or just refitting the cranks and riding gently until its tight.

Can I use weldtite TF2 Lithium Grease? And anything i should do to it to make it better? Like to make it not skip and to keep it working good and to make it reactive as possible? Ali C
stop worrying so much, I bought one when they first came out, fitted it and never touched it since, it is now on someone else's bike still going strong nearly 2 years later. I have also hada a TR and Ti Sl freewheel and again, they worked flawlessly with nothing ever done to them. PS, yes that grease should be fine on the threads. Nick Manning
I bought the SL freewheel last week, arrived Saturday, put some copper grease on crank threads, screwed the freewheel on and went riding at barrow farm in Sunday. It's very loud and so far so good has worked extremely well, already doing big gaps putting it under pressure, and it has had no effect on the freewheel. Love it.
