You mean the split link? I've used them before on a few different chains for trials, never snapped at that link before, but then again, I've never snapped a chain. What chain is it?? mods Posted August 19, 2010 Report Share Posted August 19, 2010 I didnt use mine, but it should be ok. It has the same pieces of metal as a normal chain link. Up to you really. If you have a chain tool handy and you can use it without making the link stiff i'd just do that. Thats what i did. Dont have to even think about it then. Revolver Posted August 20, 2010 Report Share Posted August 20, 2010 It's preference, really. If you have a habit of messing chains up when you split them, use it. If you think you'll want to take your chain off some time soon, use it. If you want to use it just for ease or to get it out of the way, use it. If not, join the chain properly.
