Dan S
Hi guys. I don't know if anyone had this problem before. I had to re bleed my hope and I did it just like a video tutorial showed me...I used Castrol Dot 4 (maybe this is the problem). I don't know why, but the lever feels too soft now, like there is still some air, but obviously there is no air at all. Also, the pad engage point is not where it was before, and the lever travels more than it did before, staying in the same position. I simply don't have a clue, what could cause that. ANother problem is probably connected with my frame. the +20 adapter somehow cracked. I'll post up the pic soon. This question is to the riders who use rockman frames. I had to use a lot of spacer rings to position my caliper right. And that could make an arm, that cracked the adapter. maybe this is connected with my monty hub(disc mount of which seems to be farther from the frame than, for example, Try-all's one)? I will be very grateful for any help.
Revolver
It shouldn't be the oil that's the problem... Dot 4 is dot 4, it's a specific weight and composition. It could only really be the bleed, but you said you did that right so
George.E
Did you undo the leaver reach before bleading ? Did you push the pads back before bleading?
N.Wood
Try another bleed... Unless its some sorta odd thang going down its 99% gonna be a bad bleed. Theres air in there somewhere brah.
forteh
Slightly related so I thought I would post here instead of creating an almost identical topic I have an 06 mono trial (the old style lever and caliper) fitted to my santacruz chameleon, it works pretty well, bites well and slows you down as you would expect. It is however really quite spongy and always has seemed to be. The performance is fine and you can feel the pads hit the disk as normal, however once you feel the bite point the lever can then be pulled back to the bars without much hassle. I dont think its a bad bleed and you can see the caliper physically spreading when you pull the lever to the bars, is this a common problem with the 1st generation of the mono trials or have I got some air in there?
