Laurence--Trials
very very strong but when you let the leaver out the pads stick badly, did i put to much on? i put 6 grapes on for 4 sides, it also made a very strange noise. so how much did you put on? Yeah way too much, i use 1/2 - 1 per side of rim normally 1/2 though. They will be a little sticky but its better than to have no braking . I want to thank you for actually trying this, st time i mentioned it TF slated me (no surprises there)
Kenny--Trials
If you are going to use fizzy drink use dr.pepper. Works a treat Also, when using grapes put a little on a the rim and rub it round. When using drinks, put some on the cloth and rub it round. This way it will still be sticky but your pads wont stick. dirt jumper jake
Or you could just stop f**king about with bodge solutions and grind your rim, seeing as its a t-bird im guessing it has a reggie rim, they hold grinds mint so you have no excuse.
trials owns
a drop on each side of the rim is amazing, very very strong and not much stick at all. awesome also makes it loud
dann2707
Why don't you just buy some decent brake pads and not really bother with adding anything to your rim all the time? Get some heatsink yellows or something like that and never look back... I ride with them on the rear and don't even need tar or anything like that, my rim only has a grind from when I had standard black pads on the rear. The hold and bite is epic

ben_travis
this topic is making me lose the will to live! Agreed with allistair - is this really what trials has become? bloody hell i wish some people would sort themselves out. EDIT: Grapes? What the f**k.... Fizzy Juice? Back in the 90's maybe. Tar? by far the cheapest out of the three. Grind - brilliant idea. if you really need to stick to having a smooth rim, a little bit of tar (which you can pick off any road pretty much for free...) will do the job. N.Wood
I've not read the topic, because it appears to be a shitstorm, but if you want a good brake on a smooth rim, Plaz CRMs on a rim thats been cleaned with muc-off will be the BOSS. For about an hour till you have to clean it again.
