Have you ever crashed? Have you perhaps even wrecked your disc brakes because of that? If so than

make sure you get involved in the MAGURA Crash Contest! No matter if your brakes are from MAGURA

or not – as long as you have managed to trash them in your crash. Besides that you obviously need

a video clip that shows one of the following:

- You managed to capture the whole thing – from beginning to end – perfect.

- Crashing the brake is not an absolute must, but it will enhance your chances to win!

- You don't have a video of how you destroyed your brake but you filmed the spectacular results of your

wrecked brake.

- You filmed yourself or your friends telling the story how your brakes got destroyed.

Now simply upload the video and with a little luck win a prize.

MAGURA is trying to achieve two things with this Crash Contest. First of all we will put the funniest,

the most spectacular and the most exciting crash stories, showing how hard our sport can be, together

into a Crash Contest Video. More importantly though, we are keen to find out what really goes wrong in

extreme situations to establish what needs to change to make brakes more resilient and reliable.

There is obviously an ambitious goal. The MISSION PERFORMANCE is aiming towards making the best disc

brake in the world. And YOUR input and experiences will play a fundamental role in this process. Join in and win!

Video 1, 1:19 in, i'd be so pissed at the guy who left his bike on the floor

Sounds funny though. What is the prize, couldn't see it anywhere.

I'm not 100% sure there is a prize.. i'll just check and while im at it i'll add the magura weight link if it isn't there already.

The prize is a / the new magura disc brake set (the worlds best apparently.. ) I've added the quote onto the first post and i'll highlight the link where i found everything.

I would say that material X is a plastic, possibly a reinforced plastic structure (seems to be painted or coated to the eagle eye ;) ) Looks impressive though, although not entirely sure that test is conclusive for... whatever it is they're going to use it for

Actually, what is that material going to be used for?

levers, callipers, slaves....

lol. so the kind of stuff that is regularly impacted with a large steel block then :P I cant say Ive ever had a slave snap on me tbf. And I get a slight feeling that plastic hydraulic components may be slightly spongier?....

Maybe the reason why Magura are behind Hope/Avid/Hayes in the disc brake market is because they test all their stuff in totally asinine ways instead of making brakes out of it and testing them.

The horse one makes no sense at all as they've already proved it's stronger than steel apparently, and steel does a fine job at horse shoes now, so I'm not sure exactly what that proved except it's still as strong as steel.

Good to know I can put my brakes in an oven/freezer though.
