angua
Hey. I got a new frame about a month ago and it has never been right. I had to get the back mounts helicoiled and this is proving to be a bigger probem than i thought. The mounts are now m6 size (i think) and i need to get a pair of tensile off set mounts but how would i get a bolt to fit them if the hole is only the original size. If that makes any sense please help Cheers angus
dirt jumper jake
Drill the tensile mounts out to the appropriate size.

Revolver
Aaah, hold your horses. When you helicoil brake mounts, you first tap them from m5 to m6. So, if you don't want to drill the clamps out, you can helicoil them.

AdamR28
Man speaks the truth Sort of. You DO tap to 'an' M6 thread when helicoiling, but it's M6 x 0.8 (non standard) rather than normal M6 x 1.0. So, if you have tapped out to M6 x 1.0, there is no way you can go back to M5 x 0.8 now. Matt Vandart
Exactly he has had it helicoiled before so unless they are tards (which it sounds like) it should be m6 x 0.8 Why do people never post pics, the original post is such a mess of shit one doesn't know what the holes have been tapped to, weather the helicoil wire is out, whether it has been re-tapped to normal m6. How can one provide a sulution with such vague data? Edited August 11, 2010 by Matt Vandart
