PeanuckleJive
That's what I've been told by a Sargent, not tried it myself though EDIT: the effect you see on computer games is funny. If a .50cal hit you, you'd travel some distance. Yeah, but I guess it's a lot of effort to have a seperate physics thing going on just for when you get shot by a 50 cal
Luke Dunstan
Yeah, but I guess it's a lot of effort to have a seperate physics thing going on just for when you get shot by a 50 cal Haha, that's probably true.
Revolver
Is 50 cal the same as .50?
dann2707
Think so. Think the theory only applies to a rifle rather than a pistol though? Can we test it? Full tf mythbusters special... Who can be the mannequin
Revolver
If .50 is the same as 50 cal... That means the desert eagle pistol is 50 cal, which is ridiculous. Imagine the recoil!
dann2707
Yeah man! Its crazy! Comes in .357, .45 and .50 action express. Interchangeable barrels ***!

It's kinda the same .50 BMG is the rifle round, and .50 AE (Action Express) is the pistol round. Same size bullet head, different grain of power. (Half the power of the BMG)

Revolver
Ha! that's pretty cool, I'd've thought there wouldn't really be any gun shops, seeing as how expensive they seem, and how regulated they are.
PeanuckleJive
I only realised the deagle could be .50 cal a few weeks ago, it was designed for taking down helicopters though

Rifles are more accurate, easier to fire straight...

They are pretty strict. But not all of them are expencive, pick up a big boy for £500 I guess. Pop down to the Sportsman in Devon and they got a .50 rifle on the shelf. dann2707
This is a complate guesstimate but wouldn't a rifle need a spotter and such? For distance, wind, elevation and all that shizzle.
Revolver
How much is... a colt python 6"? Hahaha. I was going to buy an airsoft one of those once, and then I changed my mind. @Dann2707 it depends on how far away it is. If it's close enough to shoot with a pistol, it's close enough to shoot with a rifle without a spotter. Can't get pistols in UK, just rifles and shotguns, from what I can remember And anyway, you'd want a real man's pistol, glock 18, with full auto
Luke Dunstan
Spotting wise, no. Pretty sure there is only one pace in the UK you can use on for game hunting. Other than that, hit the targets at a club. Guntrader , Have a look through this. Edited September 14, 2010 by xDUNSTANx
Revolver
Naah, I'd take the revolver. Let's face it, it's not very straightforward to actually use a gun on someone, it's not something you're likely to get away with, so with that in mind, you're only buying it to look badass, and what's more badass than a revolver?
