What do ride at the moment? How tall are you? whats your riding style? street/natural? 20"/26"? bothered about weight?
Jamie_Trials
Why not have in-between if you cant decide. If i was riding natty id go for short cs and high bb and the opposite for street
Alle.C
What do ride at the moment? How tall are you? whats your riding style? street/natural? 20"/26"? bothered about weight? I'm 185cm tall, and weight is around 67kg.(though it's all muscles ) and I'm riding the monty kamel 220 frame with ECHO Urban stem (wheelbase - 1000mm. BB-rise - 65mm. chainstays - 362mm ) riding both street and natural something like that Edited August 6, 2010 by Alle.C
trialsiain
to be honest i prefer higher BB and shorter chainstay as it feels more agile on the back wheel but its really a personal preference because you might a different style than me. Alle.C
Hi again, does a longer chainstay length make you jump higher ?
Alle.C
No. Being able to ride well with a good technique allows you to jump higher. I mean if the long chainstays works as some kind of lever
Ash-Kennard
longer chainstays generally means you can gap further so im assuming its the same for sidehops...
aust
longer chainstays generally means you can gap further so im assuming its the same for sidehops... not really as said before a good technique is all that is needed ! perfect your technique ! and build your bike around it shorter chainstays will make it nicer on the back wheel a higher bb will also ! a higher bb you will find things look smaller for things such as sidehops ! so you have a mental advantage the only thing that will help is loosing weight from the bike ! and improving technique
