By this time the rim would of had countless grinds on the sidewalls making them thin and prone to dents. But people are constantly changing their rims because of colour, weight, width, number of spoke holes, wheelsize.. So you can't really get a proper gauge on the lifespan of rims at the moment. If people are going through rims fast it'll either be down to their wheel building skills and ability to keep there spokes tight, or simply that they are an utter basher!
