Learn you build a better wheel and keep your spokes tight ;)

When you build them do you properly destress and retension the spokes?

I'd say about 2 years would be a normal lifespan with a good build.

By this time the rim would of had countless grinds on the sidewalls making them thin and prone to dents.

But people are constantly changing their rims because of colour, weight, width, number of spoke holes, wheelsize.. So you can't really get a proper gauge on the lifespan of rims at the moment.

If people are going through rims fast it'll either be down to their wheel building skills and ability to keep there spokes tight, or simply that they are an utter basher!

The general quality of trials specific rims is pretty shocking to be fair, got nothing on a mavic for example; Im sure this can contribute to the wheelbuild not being as strong. Also because theyre so much wider they generally dont make as stiff a structure as a narrow rim :)
